An Interview with Professor Ian Plimer on his latest book “Green Murder”:

I too am fed up with Green madness, in a time of Aztec sacrifice to the Climate gods. Around 1980, Richard Courtney predicted that the CO2 derangement syndrome would infect world leaders, captains of industry, institutions and uncritical laymen, and that the facts would be ignored. So it has transpired; recent converts include Andrew Forrest with his hydrogen fantasy, and Barry Jones repeating every slogan uttered at the mad hatters’ tea party in Glasgow (the greatest gathering of Hanrahans in history). My own Institution of Engineers has just hosted a “Climate Smart” conference with Al Gore as keynote speaker! Traditional Australian scepticism has melted under the propaganda firestorm, and the absurd hypothesis of James Hansen rules debate everywhere. I despair for Australia and the planet.
The manner in which our politicians are ignoring the real science which shows conclusively that increases in carbon dioxide can NOT cause increases in global temperatures is a total travesty. They are not representing us in any appropriate manner and are driving the economy in a way that will cause real harm to our children, grandchildren and in particular our little great grandchildren for whom I have the greatest concerns. If you go to http://www.climatebynicol.com or search for John Nicol scientio geograephae you should find a simple scientific explanation as to why carbon dioxide cannot cause any global warming.
I am still reading Green Murder and re-reading Chapter 2 – Looking backwards to see forwards- which could be the basis for a primary school primer and the children’s parents. I don’t remember Geology being taught in senior school let alone primary school – a serious deficiency in the school curriculum. A major part of the history of planet Earth is written in its rocks – a fact that is forgotten or ignored by the Greens and their allies.
Looking back to see forwards is not new. Spanish-born American philosopher George Santayana said “Those who ignore history are destined to repeat it.” Mark Twain put it simply:”History may not repeat itself, but it does rhyme.”
So thanks to Ian Plimer for this, his latest major literary effort, and convey to him our full support from The Saltbush Club.
As a retired engineer, also an ex IE Aust member, I am utterly astounded that the conclusive evidence against the climate madness is not shouted from the roof-tops of our Universities, the IE Aust and other so called educated advanced institutions.
Where has the independence of University research gone? Where is honest independent assessment of science?
Oh, I forgot – it’s all about money! Our politicians, industry and yes the universities have been bought and paid for by big solar, big wind and big batteries – oh yes, add big hydrogen to that line of charlatans.
Shame on the lot of you, committing us, the tax payer and ordinary citizen to unimaginable economic disaster, deprivation of materials and services and unfathomable pollution in the not too distant future.
Forget temperatures and thermometer readings. The effect of all the fossil carbon combustion since the start of the Industrial Revolution can be seen in sea-level rise. The Earth is its own thermometer.
As long as ice remains at the poles and on the Himalayas and other mountains, global heating will result in ice-melt without significant temperature rise. It is high school physics.
3.3 mm/yr = 33 mm/decade = 330 mm/ century = 3,330 mm / millennium
330/100 x 2,500 = 8,250 mm in the last 2,500 years since classical times in Greece.
8,250 mm = 8.25 metres; enough to swamp a fair hunk of the classical world unless compensated for by upward crustal (isostasy) movements.
From which we may conclude that this GLOBAL sea-level rise is comparatively recent in historic time; likely since the Industial Revolution which began C 1750 AD.
