Hundreds of Consumers, Business people and Scientists say: “Get out of the Paris Agreement.”

“The Saltbush Club”

Skilled and Thinking Australians concerned at the huge costs and unproven benefits of the climate, energy and infrastructure policies on both sides of Federal Parliament.

A new lobby group comprising scientists, farmers, consumers, small business and big business is urging both sides of Australian politics to put aside party interests and global agendas to focus on what’s best for Australian business, workers, consumers and the environment.

The Saltbush Club calls for Australia to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement and to cease financing or supporting the international bodies promoting it.

It challenges the whole idea of a consensus on man-made global warming.

Jerry Ellis, retired chairman of BHP, and Founding Chairman of the Saltbush Club says:

“It is clear that Australia’s push to meet the Paris carbon dioxide emission targets is leading to higher electricity prices and unreliable supply. We have lost the balance between working for environmental outcomes and working for economic outcomes. These things need to be balanced, and this balance is missing with the Paris Agreement. The world would be a better place with strong economies generating money to spend on poverty, health, infrastructure and the environment.”

Hugh Morgan, CEO of Western Mining 1990-2003 and a director of the Saltbush Club agrees:

“People think the Paris Accord is just about commitments to lower CO2. It is really about transferring wealth via the UN to the so-called Less Developed Countries. It’s about advancing centralised control of people’s lives on a global scale. This climate alarm movement has got so far because of backing by Western millennials who have been indoctrinated during their education. Enjoying living standards unprecedented in world history, they have embraced alarmism as a new secular religion.”

Ellis and Morgan are supported by a large, skilled and experienced group of other Australians calling themselves “The Saltbush Club”. The group was organised by Viv Forbes (with a few helpers), from a country farm-house in Queensland with no landline, no NBN and less than $3,000 in financial support.

Forbes says:

“The Saltbush Club has over 200 foundation members, plus a bigger group of “silent” members. It will be a voice for those who are rarely heard in the climate and energy debate – those consumers of electricity who are concerned that the war on hydro-carbon energy has increased the costs and reduced the reliability of electricity for industry and private consumers.

“It welcomes anyone with a similar view, regardless of their political affiliations or leanings.

“We must reject the UN Agenda which is crippling western industry with high-cost unreliable electricity in a futile attempt to control global climate.”

“Our top priority is to have Australia withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement and to cease financing or supporting the international bodies promoting it.”

Jo Nova (a well-read blogger and Saltbush Media Director) added:

“Who speaks for consumers? Our elected reps are supposed to, but few are willing to speak up. There is a $1.5 trillion dollar global industry that wants Australia to accept Paris, but no debate about the vested interests that stand to profit while Australian consumers and businesses pay carbon taxes they have voted against every time they had the chance.”

I am a liberal and worried about all the trouble at the moment would like to join the club asap.My husband and I are business people still working and semi retired
Was a liberal member in Victoria in my early years. Now in nsw ,business in Queensland.

    2. The comments by Hugh Morgan on 2GB this afternoon fill me with hope, that eventualy, proper thinking about the climate will lead the world back to real science and commonsense. I am a retired civil engineer and a recent member of the Liberal Party. I am dismayed about the disunity in the Party and disappointed that the liberals do not have a simple understandable energy policy on that relies on proper science. The Australian Conservatives do. I would very much like to join the Saltbush Club. Can Hugh get Ian Plimer involved?

  1. I’m an ex math/science teacher, small ships’ captain, boat builder & author & I have had a long term fact, evidence & reason supported belief that anthropogenic global warming via CO2 emissions (AGW) is unrestrained alarmism.
I am delighted to see the formation of a group whose aim is to counter the AGW nonsense & I would like to join you.
    Yours faithfully,
    Les G Thompson.

  2. Let me HELP.

    How do I join ?
What is wrong with conservative minded Aussies ???

Get with the program. Join. Fight. Agitate. SUCCEED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Retired entrepreneur
    Please lobby the retired population
They will want to leave their grandchildren a world full of promise
The millennium population (the minority) have the knowledge and skill to manage the future.
We can not give into the bigots any room to promote their unmeasured facts or credibility
I want to be a member

  4. I hope our current Prime Minister is reading this and then seeks council from Tony Abbott about building 3 new coal fired power stations, Loy Yang B2, C1&2. These power station sites have been previously developed and are ready to install, all is needed is to order them from China (because our industries have closed down due to high power prices) and install them. 2 years time 1,000MW on line 2 years after that 2000 more MW on line. No more black outs, power prices fall by 100% industry grows as power supply certain and cheap. If the govt really wants to turbo charge the economy then give power to industry almost free and it will be able to do so as the owners of the power stations. Tens of thousands of jobs in construction and ongoing running of the power plants provided, more jobs in industry growth, more money for health care, infrastructure, boarder protection etc. Who knows Scomo might even be bold enough to ditch the stupid $100 Billion French Submarine deal and really protect our region and buy 3 nuclear subs for I believe half the price from the USA and have them here in a few months instead of a few decades from France. So called climate change is just stupid non sense without foundation. It is up to those in positions of influence to educate the voters and I note Alan JONES is hammering away with support from other Fox Shows. How about Scomo be his own man and have a red hot go on these topics, give us a clear choice. Sit on the fence and get pushed off either side or have a crack and know if it fails he did his best to rescue our country from pending economic disaster and the lowering of our standard of living back to a 3rd world country.

  5. Paris has nothing to do with climate. It’s just another spoke in the wheel of socialist globalism. Redistribute people and put them on welfare in richer countries to help drain their economies to aid the growth of the left. Redistribute money, make western countries PAY, then steal the money like they have stolen free speech and the pursuit of excellence.
They are coming for us in a big way.
The insidious socialist control of the education system is producing illiterate brain washed gender fluid exponents of mediocrity and they are stealing our way of life.
We are letting all this happen, its our fault, the idiots just follow, we should protect them.

  6. I’m a retired private business owner from the chemical and plastics industry. The indoctrination of our vulnerable young people by climate change alarmists threatens our future. The formation of The Saltbush Club with the caliber of leadership I have read is a very encouraging development. I will start by spreading the good news amongst my like-minded friends and colleagues.

  7. We are very concerned about the ramifications of the Paris Agreement for Australia’s industries and businesses. As farmers, we hold grave concerns for agriculture in particular if our government does not pull out of the Paris Agreement in December while we still can.
We can see clearly that this is an underhanded way for the UN to assume more control, weaken our national sovereignty & redistribute wealth globally.
We believe Australians should determine Australia’s future for the benefit of Australians first and the rest of the world secondly.
We are heartened to learn of the Saltbush Club on Sky News’ Jones & Co programme and would like to join and support your group.

  8. I’m 72 years old, a self funded retiree along with my husband who is a retired Power System Specialist having worked in the Mining Industry in Gove NT and Ok Tedi, PNG over a 38 year period and previously in New Zealand and the north west of WA. We are Australian born and bred.

I do not have any specific University qualifications in science or similar but I do have life experiences, a sound education and I’ve traveled extensively. I can’t argue science but I can use my common sense to dismiss the climate change fraud that has been rife since Al Gore started spruiking his seriously flawed messages through Hollywood.

My husband and I have visited many wonders of the world including Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe/Zambia, Halong Bay, Vietnam, Grand Canyon, both sides on separate visits 10 years apart, cruised through Glacier Bay, flown over the Wilderness in Ketchikan and landed on a lake, Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Cuzco, a 10 hour train journey across the vast Altiplano (high plains) to Puno and a wonderful experience of a visit to Lake Titicaca where the Uros Indians live solely on floating reed islands. The people live totally interwoven with the totora reed that grows abundantly in the shallow waters of Lake Titicaca and have done so like their ancestors did a thousand years ago. Following this fascinating visit, we journeyed on to the most spectacular Iguacu Falls. Iguacu Falls is a protected UNESCO Heritage site and yet it’s never referred to as being in danger of ‘climate change.’ No one who ever visited this breathtaking site would ever believe the myth that is climate change. Sites such as I’ve listed should be promoted to the world as proof that man has had nothing to do with changing of climates.

I live adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef and last week I spent 3 days on Fitzroy Island. Mike Pence’s family went snorkeling on Little Fitzroy on the day that I came home to Cairns and later Mrs Pence publicly sang the praises of the reef and her experience and said she was still on cloud 9. Sadly, her brief remarks were only heard on local channel 7 news and no other national news channels.

Thank you so much for starting this group, I would be honoured to join.

    Many good wishes.

    1. Greetings ‘actual scientist’ .

Were you one of the actual scientists who told us all that the ozone layer was being destroyed by human produced Freon (chlorofuorocarbons)? These molecules are each heavier than iron molecules and several times heavier than air but we were told by actual scientists that they travel upwards and destroy ozone. The actual scientists told us that the destruction of ozone would lead to an increase in skin cancer rates although ozone does not block the type A ultraviolet rays that cause skin cancer.

Ozone is unstable and decomposes in a few hours. The ozone layer is constantly recreated by sunlight but sunlight is absent in the polar regions during winter and therefore the ozone density is reduced. This effect was detected in the 1930s before Freon was invented and will occur forever. The maximum density of Freon found is equivalent to 5mm in a journey of 1,000 kilometres.

Herds of actual scientist and educator alarmists promoted the ‘hole in the ozone layer’ indoctrination program to help the virtuous manufacturers 0f Freon have their own product banned so that competitors could not make Freon when the patent expired. The duped world paid billions as it was forced to to change to a less effective and more expensive substitute and the manufacturer’s directors made billions of dollars each. The actual scientists are now silent since the non-existent problem has been solved.

Australia should manufacture Freon which is so harmless that magicians pretended to breathe underwater in a tank of that stuff – the water was oxygenated Freon. After they coughed it out of their lungs none suffered any consequences.

Were you one of these ‘actual scientists’?

  9. What are they Plotting in Poland?

How to scam us out of more money, consolidate power and take away our sovereignty Viv that is what they are planning.

  10. It is always suspicious when every journalist has the same perspective on an issue. Has any journalist employed by our honest, professional and impartial ABC been able to comment against global warming/climate change change change change …. change change…. …. (sorry, I’m stuck in a political slogan*) Usually every ABC journalist has exactly the same correct point of view on anything. Surely it would be cheaper to employ only one journalist if they all read from the same script.

    * During the republican debate I heard someone use the word ‘change’ fourteen times in one and a half minutes! It’s difficult – try it.

  11. The well noted alarmist,Tim Flannery said that there would be no beach at Bondi due to rising sea levels.
The council put a gauge at the north end of where the level would be 2016. I went there on a King Tide and flat surf to check.
The water was 10 metres from the gauge and not even up to the 2007 level.!!

BTW the beach is still there and looking great.
